How it all began... A solution to a problem.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, my life as a seasoned cinematographer came to a sudden halt. All my travel plans and overseas work were on hold, and I found myself with an unexpected surplus of time. Little did I know that this pause would lead me down a remarkable and unexpected path.

In my usual daily routine, I always maintained my health with a vegetarian diet and enjoyed exploring new superfoods. It was during one of our weekly trips to the local grocery store with my partner, Erica, that our journey began. As diligent shoppers, we always checked our purchases for anything spoiled or rotten before bringing them home. That day, as I picked up the plastic container of strawberries, we noticed mold growing within the center was not visible from the outside we presumed everything was all good. It was an intriguing moment, and instead of frustration, I felt curiosity about the workings of nature – how and why did this happen? , I just have to simply throw the spoiled strawberries away with disappointment, in the midst of a pandemic, I realized the importance of not taking our food supply for granted.

Driven by this curiosity, I decided to embark on a self-proclaimed research journey to understand why food spoilage happened all too often. I began tracing the supply chain, from suppliers to distributors, and even farmers post-harvest. It was a deep dive into a world I had never explored before, but I knew I was onto something important. What started as a quest to understand the problem soon transformed into a mission to find a solution.

As I delved deeper into the intricacies of the food supply chain, I uncovered shocking statistics about food waste on a global scale. Mountains of perfectly good food were being discarded while people around the world went hungry. It became clear that addressing this pressing issue was not only vital for the environment but also for humanity's well-being.

With a newfound purpose, I continued my research and began exploring innovative ways to reduce food waste. I collaborated with experts around the world, learned about sustainable agriculture practices, took an online chemistry course to learn the basics of chemistry, and even explored the potential of bio-technology in minimizing spoilage during transportation and storage.

This journey, which unfolded during the COVID-19 lockdown, has been nothing short of remarkable. It has not only expanded my horizons but has also given me a meaningful cause to champion. As a cinematographer, I have captured many stories on film, but now I am living a story of my own – one that I believe holds a significant potential solution for addressing a pressing issue that affects us all, food waste, on a global scale.

But wait there’s so much more I have to tell you. it will blow your mind.
